POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Intern to join our Accounting Team. This role is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a multi-entity environment within an investment management firm. Working closely with the Accounting Manager and Corporate Controller, you will support various accounting and reporting activities, contribute to the integrity of financial information, and develop a strong foundation in corporate accounting.

In addition to daily accounting tasks, the intern will be assigned a special project or process improvement initiative during the internship—designed to enhance systems, documentation, or efficiency within the accounting cycle.

KEY RESPONSABILITIES:

• Perform monthly bank reconciliations for various legal entities
• Assist with month-end closing tasks, including preparation of journal entries, supporting schedules, and reconciliations.
• Support the team with monthly accruals and intercompany entries under a multi-entity structure.
• Prepare and file periodic GST/QST (TPS/TVQ) filings for applicable entities.
• Assist with the preparation and coordination of government and regulatory filings.
• Contribute to audit preparation, including gathering supporting documentation, organizing working papers, and assisting with auditor requests.
• Assist with year-end investor portfolio reconciliations and related schedules.
• Maintain a systematic and organized filing system for documents and records of all legal entities.
• Perform ad hoc analyses and financial reporting projects as required.
• Contribute to a process improvement or accounting automation project, aimed at enhancing efficiency or accuracy in financial operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree in accounting
• Bilingual (French and English)
• Ability to work effectively under a multi-company structure
• Team and service-oriented mindset
• Organized and detail-oriented
• In-depth knowledge of MS Office, specifically Excel
